Another protected area on Socotra should be soon developed and managed by a local community. The protected area recommended by UNDP Socotra Governance&Biodiversity Project, the Environment Protection Authority and local council is Ayhaft. It is a wadi located in a vicinity of Hadibo with outstanding level of biodiversity richness and a good eco-tourism potential.
So far, there have been six protected areas managed by local communities: Dihamri, Rosh, Homhil, Skand, Amak and Ditwah. Basic accommodation, bathrooms, food and in some of them charging batteries are provided.
